Bengal’s crafts, boxed to give
A Purva Heritage gift box is a small collection: one craft at its heart, often paired with a pair of hand-carved wooden tealight holders, bedded in crinkle paper inside a rigid box that carries our label. Nothing in it is mass-made — the basket was coiled in Jhargram, the tray painted freehand with alpana, the necklace cast by the lost-wax method in Bankura.
In Bengal, a festival gift has always been something to keep and use — a brass thali, a painted kulo, a basket for the puja flowers. Our boxes follow that idea: every piece is meant for the table, the shelf or the wardrobe, not the bin.
Each box is assembled to order, so colours and contents can be changed, and a note can be tucked inside.
Corporate, wedding & festive gifting
For orders of 10 boxes or more we can mix and match contents, change basket and box colours, add a printed message card or a logo sleeve, and ship to multiple addresses across India and abroad. Tell us the occasion, the quantity and the budget per box, and we will put together a quote.
Where it comes from
The pieces in our gift boxes come from the craft clusters we already work with across West Bengal: Sabai grass from Jhargram, brass and Dokra from Bankura and Bardhaman, terracotta from Panchmura, and alpana-painted woodcraft from painters across rural Bengal. Buying a box sends work to several artisan families at once.
- Crafts from Jhargram, Bankura, Panchmura & Bardhaman
- Made by women weavers, potters, painters & metal-casters
- Custom contents, colours & logo sleeves for 10+ boxes

Caring for your gift box
Each box contains natural, handmade materials. Keep grass and wood dry and out of long direct sun, wipe painted and brass pieces with a soft dry cloth, and never leave a lit tealight unattended. Care notes for each piece are on its product page. The box itself is sturdy enough to keep and reuse.
